Best Wife... Ever

Have I mentioned lately that Ryan has the best wife... ever?

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure you all knew that.  I didn't want you guys questioning that or anything...

Disneyland

I am a huge Disney fan.

However, huge might be an understatement.  Ginormous sounds bigger. We’ll use that word…

Anyway, back to the point of this post, I am a ginormous Disney fan.  Because of this fact, Disneyland is one of my favorite places in the whole world.  I seriously dream about Disneyland on a regular basis.

No lie.

When I am Disneyland, I basically act like a five year old without meaning to.  For example, whenever I see one of the princess while I am there, I get so giddy that I can’t even breathe.  I don’t even need a map to get around that place, I know where everything is.  While I am there I make sure to ride every ride and see every show and event possible.  I don’t want to miss anything while I am in the most magical place on earth.  And don’t even get me started on the World of Color show they do every night.  It is the most magical thing I have ever seen in my whole life.

Now, with this much gumption and passion that I have for Disneyland, you would think that I would have married someone who shares this same deep admiration for the happiest place on earth.

You’d think, wouldn’t you?

Well, that is so not the case.  That is not the case whatsoever.  Not at all.

My sweet husband, Ryan, does not, I repeat, does not care for Disneyland.

Gasp, I know.

He seriously rolls his eyes every time I even mention a fond memory of that place.  He told me the other day, “Let’s just do a day at Lagoon, it’s the same thing.”

I almost wanted to hit him upside the head.

It is soooooo not the same thing.  That’s like saying “Let’s just dye my hair hot pink, it’s basically the same thing as brown.”

NO IT IS NOT!

I think Ryan was born on a different planet.  Seriously, who compares Lagoon to Disneyland?

Anyway, because of this comment I am determined to take that husband of mine to Disneyland and culture him on the true behavior of Disney fanatics.

He has no idea what is comin’ to him.  No idea.  He will never forget his first REAL trip to Disneyland.

Plus, I haven’t been to Disneyland in over two years and I am starting to hyperventilate about it.  It is becoming my obsession.  I have been pricing out hotels and tickets all summer.  I wish I could skip work and just go this weekend.  I am dying to get to see my family…. Mickey… Ariel… Woody…

So, if anyone wants to donate to the takeryantodisneylandbecauseheisagrumpaboutthatplacefund, it would be very appreciative. He needs to be cultured…. and I need a vacation.

181

Oh and there are only 181 days until Christmas.  Just thought you all should know...  :)

The Ranch

Ryan’s family owns a ranch near Lost Creek, here in Utah.

He has a lot of fond memories going there while he was growing up.

I have been able to go to the ranch twice in the past little while and I love being there with Ryan.

I have never seen anything like it.  The whole ranch is a total of 13,000 acres.

What a blessing it is to have such a great place to relax in nature.

Even though I have terrible allergies, I love being at the ranch.

Foodie

"A person that spends a keen amount of attention and energy on knowing the ingredients of food, the proper preparation of food, and finds great enjoyment in top-notch ingredients and exemplary preparation.  A foodie is not necessarily a food snob, only enjoying delicacies and/or food items difficult to obtain and/or expensive foods; though, that is a variety of foodie."

According to this definition, I am a "foodie". To prove my point... Who of you make dinner every night and almost never make the same thing?  Who of you just barely signed up for DirectTV just to be able to watch the Food Network?  Who of you go to the library to specifically check out cookbooks?  Who of you make it a point to walk through the ethnic food isle to see if there are any fun ingredients to buy?  Who of you have more cookbooks in your pantry than you have canned food?  Who of you go out to a restaurant and can basically name of the ingredients and spices they used in the dish?  Who of you can't wait to get to the store after work to go grocery shopping?

I am a definite foodie.

Funny venting

Every time I use vanilla when I am baking I think it smells so good!  However, have you ever just sipped a little before you poured a teaspoon into your recipe?  Ugh, I have and it’s gross.  How can something smell so good but taste like rotten soy sauce?  It’s a mystery.

Why does it seem like movie theaters are trying to rob us?  Ryan has to work half a day just to cover the cost of a date night to the movies.  Well, not really but pretty close.

Have you looked at your overpriced cell phone bill recently?  It’s a joke and the only person laughing is the CEO of the company that is making billions of dollars from us every year.  Where is Robin Hood when you need him?  I like his idea of robbing the rich (cell phone companies) and giving to the poor.

I can’t wait for the day that Redbox jumps another 20 cents in price.  Not.

Just because you own a camera doesn’t make you a photographer.  Hate to break it to you but your zoom technique isn’t that good.

Why did Heavenly Father give us allergies to certain things?  Are we supposed to learn something from them?  Is it like a trial or something?  I am really confused.

It seems like really good tasting food is unhealthy and really nasty tasting food is healthy.  Life can be just so unfair.

Money.  Why do we love having those green pieces of paper in our wallet?  It’s just a piece of paper.  If you ask me, I prefer bright pink cardstock.

Asdfjkl;  Is there logic behind those choices of home row keys?  I am a rebel and I refuse to use the traditional method of typing.  I prefer to use my three finger technique.  It makes me stand out.

Don’t get me started on the public education system.

Cartoon network is run by a bunch of crazies.  Have you watched some of their shows lately?  It took me 1.2 seconds to realize that nothing will be as good as the old bugs bunny cartoons.  How do they come up with that stuff?  Are they pulling ideas out of a hat at a drinking party?

I love that communication has become dependent on texting just as much as I love being hit over the head with a golf club.

I think we should come up with a federal law that makes it mandatory for all American’s to buy $50 worth of fruits and vegetables each week.  Okay I am not that crazy, but Michelle Obama is.

You know you are lazy when the idea of walking into Wal-mart and getting milk seems like an exercise work out.  Come on people.

New

I love this word for some reason.  I don’t know if you could say that is a good thing.  However, setting aside the positive or negative effect it has on my life,  I love the word new.

Just saying the word gives your heart a little jolt.  It’s like you subconsciously know that something good is about to happen or that there will be a big change in your life.

Now, before I continue this post, there IS NOT going to be a new baby in our household.  I don’t want you all to think that this is an underlying announcement or anything.

Sorry to disappoint but I am not ready for a mini me to show up in the world just yet.  Or a mini Ryan for that matter.

But I did get something new this past week.

Actually two things, a new job and a new car.

A new job and car are major changes that usually happen one at a time for most people but my life has never been normal so why should that start now?

My new job is at First American Title as an Escrow Assistant.  The ladies I work with are so much fun to talk to and be around.  I am learning so much about this industry and I am excited to make a career out of it.

Then, my new car is a silver Mazda CX7.  Or as Ryan and I call it, Sexy7.

Clever, right?  I sadly have to give the credit to Ryan for the name… as well as the down payment.  ;)

I sure do love him.

So as you can see, life is just moving right along.  I can’t wait to see what other new things will pop into our lives.
